Marcus + Christine had a lovely little family celebration the week before Christmas. It was wonderful to be invited to share in all the love being celebrated. Marcus is Andre’s brother, remember Staci + Andre? And both of these brothers have wonderful wives! Congratulations to Marcus + Christine on your new lives together!

Junior League of Chicago, Windy City Nights | River East Art Center Wedding + Event Photographer

The Junior League of Chicago held their annual Windy City Nights event and fundraiser at the River East Art Center. These ladies know how to throw a party! The Texas Hold’em tournament was exciting and ended with a repeat winner from last year. The rest of the evening was filled with casino games, food and beverage, a silent auction, and raffle prizes. Dont forget to also check out our Facebook Album!

stephanie + neal, bridal album | chicago + north shore wedding photographer

Sent this gorgeous bridal album out to the lovely Stephanie and Neallast week. The ivory and wine leather looks fabulous and was so soft, like butter! I love bridal albums and may even enjoy looking at them more than the bride. It is my favorite way to tell the story of your wedding day. They make me warm and fuzzy inside. When I know it’s about to be delivered I have to resist tackling the delivery truck driver to get the box open!

When I was 5 I decided that I wanted to be an artist. Yep. 5. I’ve never been indecisive. You know those books that you make in kindergarten that say “My best friend is…”, “My family is…”, “When I grow up I want to be…”? Well, when I grow up I want to be an artist. That was my decision way back then.

Photography is not something that fell into my lap. I grew up spending afternoons sketching, attending summer art workshops, and developing an eye for design, composition, and style. I consciously went to photography school. I purposely purchased professional equipment. And I’ve put blood, sweat, and tears into Loewen Images. Well, lots of sweat (July weddings can be brutally hot) and lots of tears (I still cry at every wedding), with an occasional paper cut that draws blood. I work hard at making photographs that tell the story of your wedding day or captures the love between a couple planning for their lives together. And I love it. I love being an artist.
